Speaking of the most iconic on-screen Jodi’s of the early 80s and 90s, Anil Kapoor and late Sridevi undoubtedly tops the list. Both the actors had given us many blockbuster movies together including, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Mr. India’, ‘Judaai’, and ‘Janbaaz’ to name a few. Anil and Sridevi’s sizzling on-screen chemistry used to be adored by millions. But do you know Sridevi always wanted her daughter Janhvi Kapoor to watch Anil Kapoor's movies and learn from him? The Dhadak actress made this revelation during her recent interview at an event.

In the panel discussion, Janhvi said, “Anil Chachu (Kapoor) was her (Sridevi) favourite co-star. I feel you can tell in the scenes and work that they have done together that they had a very special energy. She would always tell me to watch his performances. And she never really spoke about any other actor ever, except Chachu (Anil Kapoor). With him, she would tell me you need to look at his work ethic, and you need to look at how hard he works. She would always tell me to look at his comic timing, especially after No Entry that was unmatched.”

Speaking about her experience of watching Anil Kapoor’s brilliant performances Janhvi Kapoor shared that she couldn't watch the action scenes of ‘Nayak’ and ‘Mr. India’as she used to cry. She added it was tough to watch all of that.” 


“She (Sridevi) told me once, that's the thing, you think it is because he is your uncle, which is great, cute, and sweet, but it is actually because he has this thing as an actor where he can fun, Masti, Chulbul, and intense. He has this one thing that most actors don't is that he can make you feel bad for him. He has a vulnerability which not many people have,” Janhvi further mentioned. 

For the unversed, the legendary actress Sridevi breathed her last at the age of 55 on 24 February 2018. She was found unconscious in her bathtub, in Dubai by her husband Boney Kapoor. The death certificate said that death was caused due to "accidental drowning."
